Knoema Data Finder is the add-in for Excel which allows to search, add, and update data from Knoema's data collection directly in Excel without endless surfing, exporting, file transforming and copying & pasting required.
To use the Data Finder, you need to download and install it. Download Data Finder from https://knoema.com/datafinder and open the file. Click the Install button and follow the instructions.
Once installation is complete, you will see the Knoema tab in your Excel document.
To insert new data to the spreadsheet, click the Find Data button in Knoema tab. In the opened panel, you will see a search box and tips on how to use it. Type your query in the search box and click Search.
You can expand the panel, dock it to bottom, or unlock into a separate window to enable the use of filters like in the ordinary search on the website.
Select needed time series and click the Insert button. Selected data will be added to the worksheet.
You can add multiple time series to the worksheet by repeating all actions described above.
You can also add data to the existing table by simply typing country name in the cell and clicking the Refresh button.
You can remove unnecessary time periods from the table and they will not be updated. Similarly, you can add necessary time periods and after clicking Refresh button, data for these periods will be added.
You can also use Refresh button to get the updated data for your table. To update data, you do not need to search for the updated data, export, copy and paste it. All you need to do is to place an arrow at a cell in the table you want to update and click the Refresh button.
